Easter Egg Placemat


Easter Egg Placemat

Finished size is about 12 and 1/2 inches long.


You will need:
WW yarn- about 2 oz. Main Color
Small amount white
Small amount contrasting color for ribbon
Yarn needle
Crochet hook G (for placemat)Crochet hook J (for ribbon)

Stitch Notes:

Shell (sh) = Sc, ch3 and sc all in space indicated.
Increase Shell (Inc Sh) = (sc, ch3) twice, and sc all in space indicated.
Decrease Shell (Dec Sh) = Sc in ch-3 space of next sh, ch 1, sc in ch-3 space of next sh.

Pattern:

Row 1: Using MC yarn and crochet hook G, chain 23, work sh in 2nd chainfrom hook, *skip next 2 chains and work sh in next chain, repeat from * to end, chain 1, turn. (8 sh made)

Row 2: (Inc row) Work Inc Sh in chain 3 sp of next sh, work a sh in chain 3 sp of each remaining sh until the last sh, work an Inc sh in last sh, chain 1, turn. (10 sh made)

Row 3: Work a sh in ch-3 space of each sh across, chain 1, turn.

Row 4: Repeat row 2. (12 sh made)

Rows 5 - 14: Repeat row 3.

Row 15: (Dec Row) Sc in ch-3 space of next sh, ch 1, sc in ch-3 space of next sh (dec made) being careful not to work in same ch-sp as last sc made, work a sh in next 8 sh and work a dec sh over last 2 shs, ch 1 turn. (8 sh and 2 ch=1 sps)

Rows 16 - 18: Repeat row 3.

Row 19: Repeat row 15. (8 sh)

Rows 20 - 21: Repeat row 3.

Row 22: Rep row 15. (6 sh)

Row 23: Repeat row 3.
Row 24: Repeat row 15. (4 sh)


Row 25: (Work sc in ch-3 space of next sh, ch 1, sc in next ch- 3 sp of next sh)twice, ch 1, turn (2 chain 1 spaces)

Row 26: Work a sh in each chain 1 sp across, chain 1, turn. (2 sh)

Rnd 27:(mark first sc as beginning sc) Sc in ch- 3 sp of next sh, chain 3, sc in ch-3 sp of next sh, chain 3, *do not turn*, continue along outer edge of placemat and work *sc in edge of next row, chain 3, rep from * until you reach the beginning chain, work sc in the first chain of beginning chain (chain 3, sk 2 chains, sc in next chain) until last chain of beginning chain, chain 3.Continuing up the final side of placemat work from * to end, join in beginning sc of rnd 27, fasten off.

Edging
With crochet hook G and white yarn.Join yarn in any chain 3 space, chain 1, work sh in same sp as joining and in eachchain 3 space around, join in first sc, fasten off.
Weave in loose ends.


Ribbon
With CC and hook J, chain 150, fasten off. Starting where you would like bow to beplaced, weave chain through the chain 3 spaces of rnd 27.
Tie ends into a bow.

Bunny Pillow


Small Easter Bunny Pillow

You will needabout 4 oz white WW yarn
sm amount pink WW yarn
Scrap of black WW yarn.
Fiberfill. Yarn needle. Size F hook.


Bunny Pillow (make 2)

Row 1: Starting at top of head with white yarn, chain 11, sc in 2nd chain from hook and sc in each remaining chain across, chain 1, turn. (10 sc)
Row 2: Work 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc to last sc, work 2 sc in last sc,chain 1, turn. (12 sc)
Rows 3 & 4: Work sc in each sc across, chain 1, turn.
Row 5: Repeat row 2. (14 sc)
Rows 6 & 7: Work sc in each sc across, chain 1, turn.
Row 8: Rep row 2. (16 sc)
Rows 9 - 15: Work sc in each sc across, chain 1, turn.
Rows 16 - 19: Repeat row 2. (24 sc)
Row 20: Work sc in each sc across, chain 1, turn.
Row 21: Repeat row 2. (26 sc)
Rows 22 - 27: Work sc in each sc across, chain 1, turn.
Row 28: Work a dec sc over first 2 sc, sc in each sc to last 2 sc, work a dec sc over last 2 sc, ch 1, turn. (24 sc)
Row 29: Work sc in each sc across, chain 1, turn.
Rows 30 - 32: Repeat row 28, at the end of row 32, do not chain 1 and fasten off. (there will be 16 sc at the end of row 32)
Sew the 2 bunny sections together, stuff but not too firmly before closing.



Ears (make 2 white and 2 pink)
Row 1: Chain 9, sc in 2nd chain from hook and in each remaining chain across, chain 1, turn. (8 sc)
Row 2: Work sc in each sc across, join, ch 1, turn.
Row 3: Work 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc to last sc, work 2 sc in last sc,chain 1, turn. (10 sc)
Rows 4 & 5: Work sc in each sc across, join, ch 1, turn.
Row 6: Repeat row 3. (12 sc)
Rows 7 - 10: Work sc in each sc across, join, ch 1, turn.
Row 11: Repeat row 3. (14 sc)
Rows 12 -14: Work sc in each sc across, join, ch 1, turn.
Row 15: Work a dec sc over first 2 sc, sc in each sc to last 2 sc, work a dec sc over last 2 sc, ch 1, turn. (12 sc)
Row 16: Work sc in each sc across, join, ch 1, turn.
Rows 17 & 18: Work a dec sc over first 2 sc, sc in each sc to last 2 sc, work a dec sc over last 2 sc, ch 1, turn. (8 sc)
Row 19: Work sc in each sc across, join, ch 1, turn.
Rows 20 & 21: Work a dec sc over first 2 sc, sc in each sc to last 2 sc, work a dec sc over last 2 sc, ch 1, turn.(4 sc)
Row 22: Work sc in each sc across, join, ch 1, turn.
Rows 23: Work a dec sc over first 2 sc, sc in each sc to last 2 sc, work a dec sc over last 2 sc, ch 1, turn (2 sc)
Row 24: Work a dec sc over next 2 sc, fasten off.


Joining: Holding pink section over white section, using white yarn and working through both thicknesses join yarn and work sc eveny around entire outer edge of ear, having 3 sc in each endchain of foundation chain and 3 sc in the sc of row 24, jpin in forst sc, fasten off.
Sew ears to top of head, they can be put in any position you desire.


Muzzle (make 2)
Rnd 1: Chain 2, work 6 sc in 2nd chain from hook, join in first sc, ch 1, turn. (6 sc)
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around, join in first sc, chain 1, turn. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around, join in first sc, chain 1, turn. (18sc)
Rnd 4: (Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in the next sc) repeat around, join in first sc, chain 1, turn. (24 sc)
Rnd 5: Work sc in each sc around, join in first sc, fasten off.
Sew the 2 muzzle pieces together by sewing together at rnd 5 over 4 sts only.


Border: Rejoin yarn in any sc of rnd 5, chain 1, work sc evenly around rnd 5 of muzzle, join in first sc, fasten off.
Sew muzzle to center of head over rows 19 - 26. Stuffing lightly before closing.


Nose
Row 1: With pink chain 2, 2 sc in 2nd chain from hook, chain 1, turn. (2 sc)
Row 2: Work 2 sc in each sc across, chain 1, turn. (4 sc)
Row 3: Work sc in each sc across, chain 1, turn.
Row 4: Work 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc to last sc, work 2 sc in last sc,chain 1, turn. (6 sc)
Row 5: Repeat row 4. (8 sc)
Row 6: Sc in each sc across, fasten off.


Sew nose over muzzle with the bottom end of nose in line with center of connected muzzle sections.


Mouth:
(If you are good at embroidery than you can embroider mouth as desired.)
With pink, chain 16, slin 2nd chain from hook and next 2 chains.
Leave remaining chains unworked and chain 12, leaving a length for sewing fasten off.
Sew mouth to pillow with the sl st stitches coming down from nose and form a smile with the two chain sections.

Eyes (make 2)
Row 1: Chain 2, 3 sc in 2nd chain from hook, chain 1, turn. (3 sc)
Row 2: Work 2 sc in first sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in last sc, chain 1, turn. (5 sc)
Rows 3 - 5: Sc in each sc across, chain 1, turn.
Row 6: Sc in each sc across, do not chain 1, do not turn.


Mark first sc of border with scrap of yarn or marker.

Border: Work sc evenly around outer edge of eye, join in first sc of border, fasten off.
Eye edging: You can do this with any color...I used purple because it was what I had on hand.
Join yarn in front loop only of eye border and sl st around outer edge of border.


Pupil
With black, chain 2 and work 4 sc in 2nd chain from hook, sl st in same ch, leaving a length ofyarn for sewing, fasten off.
Sew pupils to bottom of eyes.
Sew eyes to bunny center evenly over muzzle.

Pattern:
Row 1: Starting at narrow end of egg, Chain 3, 2sc in 2nd chain from hook and 2 sc in next chain, chain1, turn. (4 sc)
Row 2: 2 sc in first st, work sc in each st until last sc, work 2 sc in last sc, chain 1, turn (6 sc)
Row 3: Repeat row 2. (8 sc)
Row 4: Work sc in each st across, chain 1, turn,
Row 5 & 6: Repeat row 2. (12 sc)
Row 7: Work sc in each st across, chain 1, turn.
Row 8: Repeat row 2. (14)
Row 9: Work sc in each st across, chain 1, turn.
Row 10: Repeat row 2. (16)
Row 11: Work sc in each st across, chain 1, turn.
Row 12: Repeat row 2. (18)
Rows 13 & 14: Work sc in each st across, chain 1, turn.
Row 15: Repeat row 2. (20)
Rows 16 -28: Work sc in each st across, chain 1, turn.

Rows 30 - 32: Repeat row 29, but at the end of row 32 do not ch 1. Do not fasten off. (there will be 12 sc at end of row 32)


Border: (Note: Mark first sc of border with scrap of yarn or marker as first sc) Work sc evenly around outer edge of egg, having 3 sc in each of the 2 foundation chains and 3 sc in each end sc of row 32, join to first sc, fasten off.
Sew the 2 egg halves together as follows---insert sewing needle in *back loop only* of front egg piece and both loops of back egg piece(the free loops of front piece are for edging). Stuff (not too firmly) before closing.


Edging: Join yarn in any free loop of border chain 1 and work * sc, chain 3, sc all in same free loop.Repeat from * in each free loop around, join to first sc.

Leaves(make 2): With green, chain 6, work sc and hdc in 2nd chain from hook, in next chain work hdc & dc, in next ch work dc & tr , in next ch work 2 tr, in last chain work tr , ch 4, sl st in same ch.Ch 4, continue working on opposite side of foundation ch, tr in next chain, in next chain work 2 tr, in next ch work tr & dc, in next chain work dc & hdc, in next chain work hdc & sc, join in first sc.Fasten off.


Flower: Ch 4, jopin in first chain to form a ring. Chain 1, work (sc into ring, chain 3) 5 times more,join in first sc,
*Sl st into next ch-3 sp, work sc, 2 dc, sc all in same ch- 3 space.**,.Repeat from * around and ending at **, join in first sc.


Leaves and flower can be sewn into positioned on egg however you desire.

I will have at least one new pattern to post soon...I promise!!
I am working on a few stuffed bunny ideas for Easter but haven't done much work on them in a few days but will try to get at least one done and posted by next week.
