High Top Slippers




NOTE:The sample slipper is worked in 2 color, but the pattern only calls for one color.
Slippers are easily worked in any color schemes you desire.


High Top Slippers

You will need:

About 4 oz WW. yarn
Size G Crochet Hook
Yarn Needle

Gauge = 4 sc to an inch. 4 pattern rows to an inch.


Note: Slippers are worked in one piece than folded at cente of foot sectionthen side seams sewn together.

Size Note: This pattern will fit avarage women's size of about 8 1/2 to 10(american sizes). If larger or smaller size is need adjust by going up or downa hook size as needed.


Pattern (Make 2)

Row 1: Starting at top of cuff, ch 18, sc in 2nd chain from hook andin each remaining chain across, chain 1, turn. (18 sc)

**starting row 2 all sc's should be worked in back loops only of sc in row below,unless otherwise indicated***

Row 2: Work sc in each sc across, chain 1, turn.

Rows 3 - 11: Rep row 2.

Row 12: Dec 1 sc over next 2 sc, sc in each remaining sc across, ch 1, turn. (17 sc)

Row 13: Rep row 2.

Row 14: Dec i sc over next 2 sc, sc in each rem sc across, ch 18, turn.
***next row starts foot section***

Row 15: Sc in 2nd chain from hook, work sc in each next 16 chs, Continue working in pattern with a sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn. ( 32 sc)

Rows 16 - 24: Rep row 2.

Row 25: Sc in each sc to within last 2 sc, dec 1 sc over next 2 sc, ch 1, turn. (31 sc)

Row 26: Rep row 12. (30 sc)

Rows 27 - 28: Rep rows 25 & 26 respectively. (28 sc)

Row 29: Sc in each sc to last sc, work 2 sc in last sc, ch 1, turn. (29 sc)

Row 30: Work 2 sc in next sc, sc in each remaing sc across, ch 1, turn. (30 sc)

Rows 31 - 32: Rep rows 29 & 30 respectively. (32 sc)

Rows 33 - 41: Rep row 2.

***Row 42 starts second half of cuff***

Row 42: 2 sc in next sc, work sc in each next 14 sc, leave remaining sc unworked,ch 1, turn. (16 sc)

Row 43: Rep row 2.

Row 44: Work 2 sc in next sc, sc in each remaing sc across, ch 1, turn.(17 sc)

Rows 45 - 54: Rep row 2.

Row 55: Sc in each sc across, fasten off yarn.

Weave in loose ends.

Sewing Directions:
Fold slipper in half along center of foot section so that the slipper lines up to form a kind of long L shape.

With about a 10 inch length of yarn close the toe end of slipper first by weaving the yarn through the ribbed edges. Pulling yarn tightly to gather toe end together and secure. Then weave yarn through the end again in the opposite direction and pull toghtly and secure. Weave in loose ends.

Then with another length of yarn sew top seam together, matching stitches of foot and rows of cuff.Weave in loose ends.

Lastly seam up heal sideseam from top to bottom, matching rows. Weave in loose ends.

I LOVE THIS PATTERN. Except I wanted to have the foot part in a flat stitch. I used the sc using the 2 loops on the stitch below. This made the foot too narrow. Has anyone tried this and what did you do? I am thinking of using a hdc next time. I am trying to make some slippers for our grandkids and this one is unique.

I don't understand the information between row 1 and row 2. Do we crochet the rest of the slipper in back loop only or just row two?
