Bunny Pillow


Small Easter Bunny Pillow

You will needabout 4 oz white WW yarn
sm amount pink WW yarn
Scrap of black WW yarn.
Fiberfill. Yarn needle. Size F hook.


Bunny Pillow (make 2)

Row 1: Starting at top of head with white yarn, chain 11, sc in 2nd chain from hook and sc in each remaining chain across, chain 1, turn. (10 sc)
Row 2: Work 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc to last sc, work 2 sc in last sc,chain 1, turn. (12 sc)
Rows 3 & 4: Work sc in each sc across, chain 1, turn.
Row 5: Repeat row 2. (14 sc)
Rows 6 & 7: Work sc in each sc across, chain 1, turn.
Row 8: Rep row 2. (16 sc)
Rows 9 - 15: Work sc in each sc across, chain 1, turn.
Rows 16 - 19: Repeat row 2. (24 sc)
Row 20: Work sc in each sc across, chain 1, turn.
Row 21: Repeat row 2. (26 sc)
Rows 22 - 27: Work sc in each sc across, chain 1, turn.
Row 28: Work a dec sc over first 2 sc, sc in each sc to last 2 sc, work a dec sc over last 2 sc, ch 1, turn. (24 sc)
Row 29: Work sc in each sc across, chain 1, turn.
Rows 30 - 32: Repeat row 28, at the end of row 32, do not chain 1 and fasten off. (there will be 16 sc at the end of row 32)
Sew the 2 bunny sections together, stuff but not too firmly before closing.



Ears (make 2 white and 2 pink)
Row 1: Chain 9, sc in 2nd chain from hook and in each remaining chain across, chain 1, turn. (8 sc)
Row 2: Work sc in each sc across, join, ch 1, turn.
Row 3: Work 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc to last sc, work 2 sc in last sc,chain 1, turn. (10 sc)
Rows 4 & 5: Work sc in each sc across, join, ch 1, turn.
Row 6: Repeat row 3. (12 sc)
Rows 7 - 10: Work sc in each sc across, join, ch 1, turn.
Row 11: Repeat row 3. (14 sc)
Rows 12 -14: Work sc in each sc across, join, ch 1, turn.
Row 15: Work a dec sc over first 2 sc, sc in each sc to last 2 sc, work a dec sc over last 2 sc, ch 1, turn. (12 sc)
Row 16: Work sc in each sc across, join, ch 1, turn.
Rows 17 & 18: Work a dec sc over first 2 sc, sc in each sc to last 2 sc, work a dec sc over last 2 sc, ch 1, turn. (8 sc)
Row 19: Work sc in each sc across, join, ch 1, turn.
Rows 20 & 21: Work a dec sc over first 2 sc, sc in each sc to last 2 sc, work a dec sc over last 2 sc, ch 1, turn.(4 sc)
Row 22: Work sc in each sc across, join, ch 1, turn.
Rows 23: Work a dec sc over first 2 sc, sc in each sc to last 2 sc, work a dec sc over last 2 sc, ch 1, turn (2 sc)
Row 24: Work a dec sc over next 2 sc, fasten off.


Joining: Holding pink section over white section, using white yarn and working through both thicknesses join yarn and work sc eveny around entire outer edge of ear, having 3 sc in each endchain of foundation chain and 3 sc in the sc of row 24, jpin in forst sc, fasten off.
Sew ears to top of head, they can be put in any position you desire.


Muzzle (make 2)
Rnd 1: Chain 2, work 6 sc in 2nd chain from hook, join in first sc, ch 1, turn. (6 sc)
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around, join in first sc, chain 1, turn. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around, join in first sc, chain 1, turn. (18sc)
Rnd 4: (Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in the next sc) repeat around, join in first sc, chain 1, turn. (24 sc)
Rnd 5: Work sc in each sc around, join in first sc, fasten off.
Sew the 2 muzzle pieces together by sewing together at rnd 5 over 4 sts only.


Border: Rejoin yarn in any sc of rnd 5, chain 1, work sc evenly around rnd 5 of muzzle, join in first sc, fasten off.
Sew muzzle to center of head over rows 19 - 26. Stuffing lightly before closing.


Nose
Row 1: With pink chain 2, 2 sc in 2nd chain from hook, chain 1, turn. (2 sc)
Row 2: Work 2 sc in each sc across, chain 1, turn. (4 sc)
Row 3: Work sc in each sc across, chain 1, turn.
Row 4: Work 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc to last sc, work 2 sc in last sc,chain 1, turn. (6 sc)
Row 5: Repeat row 4. (8 sc)
Row 6: Sc in each sc across, fasten off.


Sew nose over muzzle with the bottom end of nose in line with center of connected muzzle sections.


Mouth:
(If you are good at embroidery than you can embroider mouth as desired.)
With pink, chain 16, slin 2nd chain from hook and next 2 chains.
Leave remaining chains unworked and chain 12, leaving a length for sewing fasten off.
Sew mouth to pillow with the sl st stitches coming down from nose and form a smile with the two chain sections.

Eyes (make 2)
Row 1: Chain 2, 3 sc in 2nd chain from hook, chain 1, turn. (3 sc)
Row 2: Work 2 sc in first sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in last sc, chain 1, turn. (5 sc)
Rows 3 - 5: Sc in each sc across, chain 1, turn.
Row 6: Sc in each sc across, do not chain 1, do not turn.


Mark first sc of border with scrap of yarn or marker.

Border: Work sc evenly around outer edge of eye, join in first sc of border, fasten off.
Eye edging: You can do this with any color...I used purple because it was what I had on hand.
Join yarn in front loop only of eye border and sl st around outer edge of border.


Pupil
With black, chain 2 and work 4 sc in 2nd chain from hook, sl st in same ch, leaving a length ofyarn for sewing, fasten off.
Sew pupils to bottom of eyes.
Sew eyes to bunny center evenly over muzzle.

Thank you so much for sharing this pattern my grand daughter will love it! Are you aware of a pattern just for bunny ears, I have made a wreath out of mesh, crocheted easter eggs, ribbon, tiny styrofoam eggs etc. I just cant find a pattern for the ears.
