Finished size - about 6 " tall, not including strap.
Materials:
About 2 oz. WW white yarn.
Small amount of pink
25mm googly eyes.
Crochet hook size G
Yarn needle
Glue gun or tacky glue
Note: If making for a small child, do not use googly eyes,
embroider them instead.
Gauge is not important for this project.
Pattern:
Front
Row 1: Ch 11, 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch to last ch, 2 sc in last ch, ch 1, turn. (12 sc)
Row 2: 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, ch 1, turn. (14 sc)
Row 3: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Rows 4 & 5: 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, ch 1, turn. (18 sc)
Row 6: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 7: 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, ch 1, turn. (20 sc)
Rows 8 - 15: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 16: 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, ch 1, turn. (22 sc)
Rows 17 & 18: Sc in each sc across, ch 1 turn.
First Ear Strap
Work color changes as stated in each row.
Carry white yarn under pink.
W = white yarn
P = pink yarn
Row 19: W - 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc, leave remaining sc of row 18 unworked, ch 1, turn. (9 sc)
Row 20: W- Sc in next 4 sc, P- Sc in next sc, W- sc in next 4 sc, ch 1, turn.
Row 21: W- Sc in next 3 sc, P- sc in next 3 sc, W- Sc in next 3 sc, ch 1, turn.
Rows 22 - 25: W- Sc in next 2 sc, P- sc in next 5 sc, W- sc in next 2 sc, ch 1, turn.
Row 26: W- Decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, sc in next sc, P- sc in next 3 sc, W- sc in next sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, ch 1, turn. (7 sc)
Row 27: W- Sc in next 2 sc, P- sc in next 3 sc, W- sc in next 2 sc, ch 1, turn.
Row 28: W- Decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, sc in next sc, P- sc in next sc, W- sc in next sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, ch 1, turn. (5 sc)
Row 29: W- Sc in next 2 sc, P- sc in next sc, W- sc in next 2 sc, ch 1 turn. Break off pink yarn and continue with white yarn only.
Row 30: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 31: Decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, sc in each sc to last 2 sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, ch 1, turn. (3 sc)
Rows 32 - 46: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn. At the end of row 46, do not ch 1, fasten off.
Second Ear Strap
Row 19: Skip next 8 unworked sc of row 18, and join white yarn in next sc, ch 1, work sc in same sc as joining and in each
remaining sc across, ch 1, turn. (9 sc)
Rows 20 - 46: Repeat as for First Ear Strap.
Sew the end of row 46 of both straps together.
Trim (Mark as right side)
Join white yarn at edge of row 18, ch 1, work sc in same place as joining, continue working sc evenly around outer
edge of purse down and up to the opposite edge of row 18, sl st in same place as last sc worked, fasten off.
Back
Rows 1 -18: Work as for front pattern.
First Ear Strap
*Worked in white yarn only*
Row 19: 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc, leave remaining sc of row 18 unworked, ch 1, turn. (9 sc)
Rows 20 - 25: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 26: Decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, sc in each sc to last 2 sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, ch 1, turn. (7 sc)
Row 27: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 28: Decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, sc in each sc to last 2 sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, ch 1, turn. (5 sc)
Rows 29 - 31: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 32: Decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, sc in each sc to last 2 sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc, ch 1, turn. (3 sc)
Row 33 - 46: Sc in each sc across, at the end of row 46, fasten off.
Sew the end of row 46 of both straps together.
Trim (Mark as right side)
Join white yarn at edge of row 18, ch 1, work sc in same place as joining, continue working sc evenly around outer
edge of purse down and up to the opposite edge of row 18, sl st in same place as last sc worked, fasten off.
Assembly
With wrong sides together, sl st purse together over the sc of the trim, matching up the sts. Fasten off.
Turn purse right side out.
Nose
Row 1: With pink yarn ch 2, 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, ch 1, turn. (2 sc)
Row 2: 2 sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn. (4 sc)
Row 3: 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, ch 1, turn. (6 sc)
Row 4: Sc in each sc across, fasten off.
Sew nose as desired on face (front of purse), embroider mouth under nose.
Glue eyes over nose, or embroider eyes over nose if desired.
Weave in all loose ends.
